Hello everyone I just bought a mobile phone LG GR500FD and when i put my mp3 (from my computer to my cell phone) I am not able to put them as custom ringtones for my contacts. But the ringtones that are in the cell are indeed in mp3 and they work ... What should I do to be able to put them as custom ringtones?

Thank you!

First off make sure you're trying to add a ringtone to a phone contact, rather than a SIM contact.  If you see the option, you're on the right kind of contact.

Beyond that, it depends on the carrier.  AT&T seems to allow ringtone assignment, but Rogers/Fido/others seem to have trouble.  Try emailing or MMS-ing the ringtone to your phone - that should may give you the option to assign it as a caller id (tone).

Hello! I've also got a Fido version cell. The main trick is first to make your ringtone obey to 2 rules: Lower than 300Kb, and shorter than 30 secs. Then transfer to your phone using bluetooth (from a laptop or another phone). When recieved, it will prompt you if you want to use the ringtone (either global or contact) Otherwise we can't use a full lenght mp3 as a ringtone for now...
