I recently bought the Xenon from an ATT store, they told me it was a new phone. I was playing around with the phone and entered all 0's (000-000-00000)  where you would dial someone's number. Well when I did this and hit send/call button a name popped up for the number (000-000-00000). Now when I look in my contact list, I have a whole bunch of names that are not my entries. It appears that this phone was owned by someone else, and when I dialed all 0's the previous contacts were resurrected. I tried this with my wife's phone and did not get the same results, the only thing I can assume is that my phone was used and her's was brand new.

I'm going back to the store today to try and get them to give me a new phone. (Good luck with that, right?), well the service is less than 30days old, If they don't comply I guess I'll have to threaten to cancel.

Have you tried a Master Clear on the phone?  That should work, though I'd try to get a brand new phone first...

Master Clear
Go to Top Menu (hit the square with 4 dots)
Go to Settings (gear)
Tap Phone
Tap Reset Settings
Tap Master Clear
Tap Phone

If that doesn't work try a Master Reset
Go to Top Menu (hit the square with 4 dots)
Go to Settings (gear)
Tap Phone
Tap Reset Settings
Tap Master Reset
If it asks for a security code (and you haven't set one), use 0000

Thanks, I'm going to try to get a new one from them tomorrow. If that don't work I'll try the reset.

Every entry for the mysteriously added contacts have the same info:

Mobile: 000-000-00000
Mobile: 1-111-111-1111
Home: 222-222-22222
Work: 333-333-33333
Fax: 444-444-44444
Email: test1_VC@lge.com
Email: (korean letters)
Memo: Test Memo for VC.

I sent an email to the email address but it came back unknown.

I contacted LG to see if it was some kind of factory default entries and they told me it appeared to come from the sim card as it could of been a used one in which ATT has the rights to it until its given to the end user, and the phone somehow  transferred from the sim card into the phone memory. I told the guy the sim card was brand new. He also checked my IMEI number to see if the phone was a refurb, but it came back new. He didn't answer me when I asked him if it would still show new, if a someone returned the phone to the store and they just resold it. He then told me to contact ATT to find out what info they could tell me.

So I contacted ATT (online chat) and asked them if I gave them the IMEI number could they tell me if the phone was activated more than once, I also told her about the contacts. She told me that the IMEI has nothing to do with the contacts, I told her I know this I just want you to check if the phone was activated more than once, thats why I provided the IMEI. She then told me due to security reasons she could not tell me that information. Then she asked me if I could delete the mysterious contacts from the phone, I told her I don't know, but the point is I paid for a new phone not a used one, she then told me to bring it back to the store and they will be happy to exchanged it since I was within the 30day satisfaction guarantee period. But I doubt anyone in the store is going to be "happy" that I want to exchange the phone, but I am going to try tomorrow.

ok  I did't get a new phone, but I figured out where the mysterios entries came from, if you go into the engineering menu-VCMD TEST you will find an option INSERT PB ENTRIES if you select this option it will put 50 test entries in the contact list with the data descibed previously in this thread.

Another good tidbit, and also good to know your phone hasn't been "recycled" after all.

i had this issue when i first got the phone while trying to copy contact info from the sim to the phone. But, all the names were of the people that I had once had on the SIM card. I got the phone the day it came out so it wasn't used. Its just some default info it populates into fields when there is corrupted data. It just tried loading info from contacts that weren't really there. Maybe it misread some info from the sim or memory card.

The problem that I had was a result from an option in the engineering menu. I have deleted all those contacts and reproduced the results with the particular option.
