Oh yeah... that...  Undecided

You can toggle Fullscreen Edit (last option under the Advanced menu entry in Settings), but that'll just turn on the phone-native text entry instead of the on-screen keyboard.

Haven't figured out how to get in-line text entry (w/o phone-native pop-up) without the on-screen keyboard.  There might be a setting that can be added in the JAD... haven't had much time to investigate.

The latest one is the final Mini 5 build. Not the beta! Just so you know.

http://www.opera.com/mobile/download/lg/gr500_xenon/

Funny thing is I can get a signed one on the phone but with the computer it only lets you download the unsigned version. Thanks I will try what you said but may have to edit the signed one off the phone once I get home from work.

Oh, good to know, thanks!!

When downloading from a PC, use a User Agent switcher so your PC browser looks like the Xenon.
Sometimes you'll need to choose a similar phone, if it's not listed.

Xenon (GR500) User Agent string:
LG-GR500/V08r Teleca/Q7.0 Profile/MIDP-2.1 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 UP.Link/6.3.1.20.06.3.1.20.0

Oh yeah... Invalid Descriptor can also happen if you've repeated the same parameter so be sure to check whether the parameter already exists in there.

Just loaded 5 final...  The on-screen keyboard (aka Opera Keyboard) has Always, Only for addresses, and Never as options.

Unfortunately none of these options seem to do what we/I want - being in-line text input with no keyboard.

Will investigate further as I have time.

Also found the Fn-shifted keys (numbers, punctuation) don't work with the on-screen keyboard up...  You have to use the on-screen keyboard to get those in.

I might switch it back to using the native text input.  Haven't decided yet.

hey I'm getting an invalid manifest every time.  I edited the jad in textpad, definitely no errors.  Uploaded to various wap uploading sites to download on my rogers xenon.  Any tips?

Attach your JAD to a post here and I'll take a look.

Hmm, looks OK but I'd re-download anyway, as it seems you have an unsigned version.  Without the signature from one of the certificate authorities (CAs) it's going to prompt you on every web access which will get annoying very quickly.

Try using the User Agent listed in The Better Manual so your computer browser looks like the Xenon browser - it should give you a signed JAD then.

I don't think that's a problem rogers phones have, and I did try it that way as well.

Could you maybe upload your working jad to filetac and put the # here?

Try this one...  since it doesn't have signature information in the JAD, it prompts me on every access, but it does load OK on my AT&T-branded Xenon.
