To run Google Maps in landscape, make the following changes to the JAD.  Make sure you get the signed JAD, which includes the MIDlet-Certificate-1-1 line.  If you don't get a signed JAD, re-request until you do.  Or use the attached JAD (for Google Maps 2.3.2)
Notes:
This allows the arrow keys to face the correct direction, which is quite nice.
The change for UseNativeMenus is not required, but the native menus allow you to select by tapping, whereas the non-native menus require you to use the arrow keys and Select button.
EDIT 2009/07/15: Updated to use Enter key for select (in menus and to select point on map), native menus (saves space since you can use Enter key to select), Backspace for Back, Sym for Clear, and Vol Up/Down keys for Zoom Out/In.

There is a touchscreen version of Google Maps floating around, but it is not signed, so AT&T users will get prompted on every map update which is a real pain.  Hopefully it'll get signed soon, or find a way to bypass the Java security.

CHANGE:
AltZoomInKey: 0
-> AltZoomInKey: -14
AltZoomOutKey: 0
-> AltZoomOutKey: -13
BackKey: -9991
-> BackKey: -16
ClearKey: -8
-> ClearKey: -100
SelectKey: -9994
-> SelectKey: -20

ADD:
LGE-MIDlet-TargetLCD-Height: 240
LGE-MIDlet-TargetLCD-Width: 400
LGE-MIDlet-Height: 240
LGE-MIDlet-Width: 400
MIDlet-Touch-Support: true
Navi-Key-Hidden: true
MIDlet-Screen-Mode: Landscape

Essentially you need to download the JAD install file to your PC, edit it in a text editor, then load the JAD on your phone.  The JAD can either load the JAR locally, or from the Internet.
If you have a Rogers-branded phone, you will likely have to let the JAD load from the Internet.

Go to this thread then check page 32 for more information.  For some reason my bookmarks didn't get published in the PDF.  I'll fix that on the next update.

Well I hope they get google maps for us ATT users since the yellowpages program is not compatible with the phone. I think they are trying to force people to the yellowpages and navigator programs since they are owned by ATT. Any suggestions on where to look to get google maps as soon as it works for ATT?
