Hello all,

First off, I wanted to let everyone know the Xenon supports .PNG as wallpapers.

PNG has a much better image clairity, at about double size. Considering your phone has 80mb+ free to start. 166k vs 80k is not terrible.

I have attached 2 images. (a custom wallpaper i just whipped up)

If you upload them to your phone, and assign as wallpaper, you can see the increased clarity, and much less pixelation.

FINAL VERDICT - PNG !

I will be using a png for all of my future custom wallpapers, and suggest others do also.

other info - compression level (jpg) 100% quality - (png) lvl 3 Compression

Just one thought: bigger image size = more RAM usage. Your phone might slow down with a large image. I don't think 120KB is going to make a big difference but it might with 200-300KB.

@ Velocity

I would have to disagree, as the default wallpapers are 275KB + and in .bmp format.

Also, after a week or so with the .png above, i've had no problems. i.e. sluggishness, etc.

I stand corrected. Still though, i probably wouldn't want to waste RAM with large images. I wonder how much RAM these phones have.

Top Menu>Settings>More>Memory>Used Space>Phone Common

My phone still has 30+ MB free.
