Xenon Owner and Hacker

While exploring the engineering menu I came across a glitch in the system, which provided me with some interesting conclusions.

After exiting the engineering menu, I went into the task menu and found taskmenu.pxo listed!

So I started to think about hacking the LG Vu, and the .pxo files found in the LG Vu's file system, and I started to wonder if the LG Vu had .pxo and the Xenon had .pxo then maybe, just maybe, both phones would be backwards compatible in a way.

What if the themes and mods we have been using to mod and hack the Vu could be used here, when the proper connection could be made with the Xenon.

If in fact they both had very similar file systems then we would only need to establish a connection between the computer and the Xenon, it would only be a matter of using our knowledge of the Vu to hack the Xenon.

I just thought maybe I should see what you guys think, maybe somebody with a little more knowledge on hacking then I, myself.

I understand that it's probably not just transferring the files over, but the Vu could very well be a great start of knowledge into the Xenon cause! Smiley

Let me know what you think...

that is an amazing idea but it is as complicated as amazing. i am a registered lg vu member but i might get this phone. i have a hacked vu and i think that what ur getting at is a smart idea. i will talk to the administrators on the lg vu site. then maybe we could find away to help each other. but first we need some experienced hackers that r in the xenon forums.

They both seem similar - the filesystem map has PXOs and whatnot (I'd post it, but I'm traveling right now).

But the key is figuring out how to write files to a specific location.  So far, nobody that I'm aware of has figured that out.  I think SEToolbox can do it, but I'm not about to shell out a few hundred dollars on a hunch - nor am I willing to pay that much to get the hardware to do it even if it works.

Hello all,

I am Sumo from the LG-Vu website, hoping I could help you all a bit. The .pxo files in our filesystem are mainly image files, that contain small portions of certain images. To the extent that they can be used as far as themes, is very limited. In most LG phones they use the main UI in .swf files, which is what we use to create our themes. Those would be stored in the phone's file system, and in some cases the firmware. I understand that you all are having issues with accessing the filesytem, the best way possible to find out a driver that could be used is studying which chipset you all have. The best way (But not the easiest) is taking the phone apart and looking at the USB connection chipset. It should contain some information into what drivers you all will need. Now I am not well versed into what problems you all are having, so anyone want to fill me in I can see what I can do as far as figuring out what will work and what will not.
