Hey guys, I was looking for a phone and came across the Xenon. I currently have a blackberry pearl with a data plan but can't access youtube on it. Would it be possible for me to access youtube on this phone?

Yes you can access youtube on the xenon, the only problem is that you need to download abode flash player on the phone. I still haven't found a way to download it. So if anyone knows how, please tell us!
Thanks

yep. works without downloading.  you could also try the site called tinytube.net.  You can download from there too.  I used to use this site when I had the Blackberry.

try going to the site, m.youtube.com.  That's specifically for Mobile phones.

My brain totally farted  Undecided and realized (after reading your original thread) you don't currently have the Xenon...right? and you want to access youtube on your Blackberry?

When I had the 8300 Curve, I had the same problem.  The only way you would be able to access youtube would be through downloading Adobe Flash.  But for some reason, it won't allow you to download it... Now... All of this was said throughout this thread...

If you get the Xenon, your problem will be solved, you will have no problems accessing youtube. This was one of 3 reasons why I switched from Blackberry to Xenon. I originally got the Eternity, liked it, but had problems buffering... so I exchanged it for the Xenon, with other reasons... The Xenon streams the videos very well.

With your current Blackberry, you won't have much of a choice at this point... other than using tinytube I am afraid... At least this was what I found out during my crackberry days.  The guys at crackberry.com may have a new solution to get around this... but this is all I have so far...

thanks for the quick responses riconaka but I must have not phrased it properly. I originally had the pearl and just recently got the Xenon today and when I tried downloading the application from m.youtube it says youtube would not work on this device.

ah! gotcha... ok. hmm... Are you on AT&T? I am on AT&T, and it works.  Did you get a brand new one (out of the box?) or a used or unlocked one?

ah.  I am wondering if Rogers has some filter to prevent you from accessing youtube...  I wonder if it's the browser that makes the difference whether you can view it or not...

I'll keep looking around.
