Hey, figured someone may be able to help me. My LG Xenon GR500R on the Bell network has become pretty much a big pain in the butt recently.

1) Most times when receiving multiple (2+) texts in succession when on vibrate, like I usually have it, it will continue vibrating for a very long time. Today, I timed it for more than 7 minutes before finally taking out the battery. This is where the big problems start coming in...

2) After re-inserting the battery, I cannot access my inbox at all. Instead, I just get a message from the phone saying "SIM card initializing". That is all it will say for hours without a change.
2b) Also during this time, the microSD card is not recognized whatsoever.

3) After this, I remove the battery for an extended amount of time (anywheres from 10min to 2 hours). Usually this will clear the SIM card problem. If not, I will continue to repeat this step until it does work.

4) After all of that, it takes a few tries of removing and injecting the SD card before the phone will recognize that it is there. I do not make the mistake of turning off the phone during this step anymore, or it will take me right back to Step 2.

Now, I have tried using the LG Mobile Support program offered on the site (http://www.lg.com/ca_en/support/product/support-product-profile-mobile-redux.jsp?customerModelCode=GR500R&matchedModelCode=NOT_MATCHED&searchEngineModelCode=GR500R&initialTab=documents&targetPage=support-product-profile#), but that ended up in a big fail as they did not have the GR500R driver, nor did any of the manual inputs work (saying that basically, my phone does not exist to LG I guess).

Soooooooooooooooooo, thats pretty much it right there. Any input would be greatly appreciated!  Grin

Do you have a lot of SMS messages on the phone?  It may help to clear some out of both phone memory and SIM.
It can act very funny if it runs out of memory.

The MicroSD card being "iffy" - I've had that in the past.  It actually killed one of my MicroSD cards, i think (luckily I got a replacement, unluckily I lost some data I hadn't backed up).

Does it work OK if you leave the MicroSD out of the phone?

SMS and phone memory was clear before this started. For instance, last night it was acting up again to I left the battery out all night after clearing all of the memory and the SD card. Pop everything in this morning, turn it on and let it do its thing. Right away, I try to access the inbox but the "SIM card is initiating" message comes up. Seconds later, phone starts vibrating as the 23 texts I missed come in. Then the usual routine.

With the SD card, I usually  just hold it in for a second when putting it in. Then a usual 3-6 second wait before the memory is switched to the SD card.

It works with/without the card, with no change in the actions of the SIM card.
