Hi,

I am trying to sync my music files to my PC using WMP 10.

Xenon USB connection is set to Music Sync mode.

When connected via the USB data cable, WMP says "No device has been detected.  Press F5 to refresh the Player".

The phone is not visible in Music Sync mode on "My Computer", but it is visible in the device manager as a Windows Portable Device: "GR500 Music Sync Player".

Any suggestions?

My Windows Media Player (Vista Ultimate x64, WMP 11) doesn't see it in Music Sync mode either.

It appears under My Computer, but has no folders or anything - just the device.

I just use Mass Storage mode and sync files on the Micro SD card.

Interesting...  Is your carrier AT&T or Rogers?

It's xp pro on the lappy and vista premium on the desktop. Same usb cable for both. It also works fine on my moms desktop with XP.

Windows Media Player 11 does not recognize the Xenon when in the music sync mode.  This is not a vista problem because I'm using XP.

If I put the phone in mass storage connection mode, WMP syncs with it but in a stupid way that doesn't respect the music attributes (albums) so I just get an Other folder with 300 songs which is effectively unusable.

Cause is that WMP doesn't see the phone in sync mode.  I've seen dozens of similar posts, with the only solution being to use mass storage approach.

Does anyone from LG read these forums.  If so, is there a known bug or issue.  Perhaps if the memory card is not formatted in a certain way or if it has other files on it then it can't be seen as a music device?  (other apps recognize it when plugged in with sync mode, like OneNote and Word but they expect picture sharing).

LG, you really should be reading these forums.  Anyone???

As far as I know, nobody from LG reads these forums.  They're not connected to LG in any way.  Besides, LG releases so many phones, it's very much "fire and forget."

I doubt we'll see a "fix" and LG will likely say "It works with LG PC Suite II" which may hold if you have a non-AT&T Xenon... but AT&T Xenons neither work with nor come with LG PC Suite II.

If you can find some LG literature that says the GR500/Xenon works with Windows Media Player, then you might be able to force them to at least look into it, as it'd be an advertised feature that isn't working.
