Ok basically this is what happen. My phone was fine before i went to sleep(i keep it on vibrate btw) when i woke up i noticed it reacting "very slowly" i turned if off, took the battery out cleaned it and so on. Then i put it on charge(i use a usb to charge my phone connected to my xbox or computer since i do not have a wall charger at the moment) so after it charged completely, i tried it again and it still reacted slowly, when i turned up the volume, i kept hearing a beeping sound. This beeping is similar to when the phone first begins charging. So i tried letting the battery die and recharging it and the beeping went away for like 2 minutes and started again. in doing so the phone doesnt freeze as frequent but the beeping is constant and it interferes with my calls an dsometimes i cant make any at all. and since my phone is prepaid im not sure if i can take it to the store and get it fix or anything. Help would be much appreciated. thanks

Usually the phone has a warranty.  If you haven't had the phone for long, try asking at the store.  If they can see the problem they'll be able to tell you what your options are.

Sounds like maybe there's some kind of short in the Micro USB connector.  There isn't any debris or metal stuck inside the connector, is there?

I have noticed, just hadn't posted here, that the Xenon really doesn't like being charged by the USB cable if it is down to about 1 power bar. It will continuously make the connect/disconnect sound. I would guess that maybe it is just mine, but my wifes does the same. I would suggest you buy a AC-USB adapter and see if that will help.

and BTW, your ebay xenon will have no warranty through the carrier.

Ahh, if it's an eBay purchase then you have no warranty, unless the seller provides one (or you purchased some additional warranty coverage).

kgb is correct though - if you have an underpowered USB port (especially USB 1.x) or the phone's battery is very low, it can do that.  Plug it into a wall charger, or if you have no other choice but to charge from USB, turn the phone off and let it charge for a while.

Its been awhile since i could get to a computer, but I wanted to come back and thank you guys for the help  and to say the phone is doing alot better =) it seems like keeping it off the usb for awhile and using a wall charger helped.

Great to hear - thanks for the update.

I have an iGo charger and splitter (so I can connect two devices simultaneously) and noticed that some devices are more power-hungry than others, and when I connect two devices that want more power than the adapter can provide, the device will go into a "charge for a second, then pretend it's not connected, charge for a second, then pretend it's not connected" loop.

It shouldn't constantly make the connect/disconnect sound (or the low battery sound).

Either the phone has a hardware issue or the battery isn't accepting charge anymore.  Either way, if it's still under warranty take it back to AT&T.
