Hello i got my LG xenon gr500fd 2 days ago, and i put some music in it. and it updated right away now i put some more music and it will not update. i just only see the old music in the music player. but if i take out the SD card and insert it in a adapter to a computer i see the music that i added. how do i get the phone to recognize the music?

The music player should scan on each launch.

If the music files are < 300 KB, however, the phone will classify them as ringtones instead of music.

What size and type are the files you added?

They are Mp3 format sound and the average sizes are 5mb.

Strange, for whatever reason they are a format the Xenon doesn't like.

Can you try re-encoding one to MP3 using MediaCoder or similar tool?


@Spice:
The Xenon auto-categorizes audio files, regardless of where they are stored.
If it is 300 KB or less, it is considered a ringtone
If it is over 300 KB, it is considered an audio file
However, on non-AT&T Xenons, the firmware prevents you from assigning external ringtones unless they are received over-the-air (send a MMS to yourself or receive via Bluetooth).
