Hello, I have been trying to decide between the LG Xenon, and the Nokia 71x, and wanted to know if anyone here has tried the GPSed (www.gpsed.com) program on the Xenon?  I have used this program before, and really like it.  It basically uses the GPS in your phone to record a track, and can save this track and also upload it to the GPSed website.  Could anyone download it and give it a try?  It is a free program...thanks for all the help!

It says "GPS not found" (I have an AT&T Xenon)

FWIW, Google Maps doesn't/can't use the GPS either.  So far only the included Yellow Pages app and AT&T Navigator work with the internal GPS.

Damn, oh well.  Thanks for testing it out for me.  Wonder why other apps cannot access the GPS.  Perhaps there will be an update for it?  Anyway, I have been looking into some handheld GPS units so I will be able to do what I want with it and not have to worry about getting my phone to work with GPSed...thanks again for all the help!

Seems AT&T locks the GPS... since we can't get to the internals of the phone yet, don't know whether it'll be possible to unlock it.

Google Maps doesn't rely on the GPS, but it says My Location is not supported on this phone... not sure whether Google will be able to update Google Maps so it works, or if there's some kind of lock on the Java Location library too.
