If you have a Rogers-branded Xenon (___r firmware) and the USB cable, you should be able to access the SMS messages via the LG PC Suite II software.

Not sure about Fido-branded (___f firmware).

AT&T-branded Xenons don't seem to work with the LG PC Suite II software.  I think AT&T crippled the communication somehow.

I am having the same issue sort of.  I have an AT&T Xenon.  I have about 80 text messages that I absolutely need to save and get off my phone for space reasons but do not want to lose them.  When I open them individually, the only ones that have a "forward" option are the ones I sent, not the ones I received.  If anyone can assist me with this I would greatly appreciate it.

AT&T firmware doesn't let the phone talk to LG PC Suite II. Sad

AT&T firmware definitely has Forward option though... but you might have to switch to Standard View (option in the Context Menu of the Inbox) to see the option.

Thank you BHIGA, that was the solution.  Once I changed it to the standard view I did have the forward option so I can now send them to my computer.  And to everyone who stated AT&T blocks the third party software you are absolutely correct because I spoke with them about the issue and they did say all outside software is blocked.  However, they couldn't figure out how to forward my messages and never mentioned the whole standard view thing so thank you again so very much!

You're welcome.  Glad you got it to do what you needed it to.

There are many, many semi-hidden features/functions on this phone.  Sometimes I feel like I'm playing a scavenger hunt.

General tips:
  • Try tap-and-hold on stuff.  Sometimes things do things.
  • If you see the context menu button - always try it.
  • Sometimes the icons that look like on/off or enable/disable status - actually work to toggle - but sometimes it's a tap toggle (AM/PM in alarm) and sometimes it's more like a slider (Bluetooth On/Off).
  • Long press vs Short press (Hold = Long press, Push = Short press)
    • The physical Camera button
      Push for camera mode.
      Hold for video recorder mode.
    • Call/Send button
      Push for Recent Call list
Hold to call the most-recently-dialed number
    • Volume Down button (from home screen)
      Push to lower ringer volume
      Hold to toggle Silent/Vibrate-only mode
    • Multi-task button
Push to bring up Task menu
Hold to bring up Top menu
I need to add this info to The Better Manual when I get a chance... been busy with work.

You know I am really starting to dislike this phone.  I was sitting there merrily forwarding my messages to my email and all of a sudden it decided it didn't want to anymore.  Now it won't let me forward anymore and all I get is a message saying unable to forward.  This phone drives me nuts.  I have cleaned it off thinking it was full but no, that's not it. I checked my settings to see if I somehow was moving too quick and changed the gateway settings and no, that's not it.  I'm about ready to throw in the towel with this phone.

You shouldn't need to (and generally shouldn't) change the gateway settings or the like.

Sometimes AT&T's email server just doesn't respond.

Give it a try again later.  AT&T's email server might've thought you were spamming or something.  Lots of automatic spam-blocking rules in place on servers these days.  Usually it's a good thing, but annoying what you want to do something that seems spammish.
