I am frustrated as heck about this. Is there a way to either set the phone to silent/special ringtone or outright block any calls from unknown, private, no name calls on the LG Xenon? Just got the phone and can't find anything on the subject. My husband has a Palm that allows you to do this right on the phone itself.

I don't think you can explicitly set a tone for unknown callers, but you could set a group ringtone, then add everyone to the group.  That way the default ring would only apply to numbers you don't already have.

Go to the Top Menu
Go to the Phone Menu
Tap Caller Groups
Tap the Context Menu button and choose Edit Group
Tap the edit button that appears to the right of the group you want to edit
Choose the ringtone you want from the group by tapping under Group Ringtone (if you’re in portrait orientation and have the dialpad visible, you will need to scroll down)
Tap Save

so when i set it, can i still set specific people even though i set the group, let's say friend 1-20 is in one group but i want to set two friends in that group a different specific ringtone each, can it still be possible?

Yes, if you set a specific ringtone for a contact, that ringtone will be used, regardless of what groups (and group ringtones) that contact is associated with.
